My Review: Beautiful Oblivion by Jaime McGuire

Beautiful Oblivion (Beautiful, #3)
From Goodreads:
Fiercely independent Camille "Cami" Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn’t have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with a first weekend off in almost a year.

Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.

Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlor to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.

As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she’ll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever—even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart.

                 My Thoughts:

This was my first book from Jaime McGuire. I knoooowwww..... you might wonder how come I missed "Beautiful Disaster"? Or better yet, how did I missed Travis Maddox?! Before giving me that evil eye... ( I know, a lot of Travis fangirls out there! ) , let me assure you, I WILL read it soon! :)

So, here's my Review  breakdown:

1. Cover: 5 stars! Beautiful Oblivion is one of the prettiest covers I've seen! Just look at it! First glance, you already want to read it ( and own your own paperback copy too! ) .

2. Main characters: 3 stars.  I want to give it at least 4 but ... I have both likes and dislikes.

Trenton Maddox - book boyfriend material if you are into Alpha males ? Like really alpha cavemen?! Yes, Trenton will beat the sh*t out of any guy within his Cami?! ( yup! She's the heroine!) And you don't want to mess with the Maddox(es)... not if you want to lost a limb or sport a broken nose?! Yes! These boys are ... Well, handful!

This is why I love Trenton Maddox:
He is funny, and yes! Sexy as hell ( but no need to say that, you'll figure that one out already!) ...oh! He likes kids too! Oh, you can see how he adores Olive ( his Ew! Sooo cute) ...and the way he pursues Cami?! So...so.. Unrelenting? Insistent? Persistent? ....and Yes! Entertaining!

This is why I don't like Trenton Maddox:
He is super insecure when it comes to Cami! And do he really have to beat somebody's ass?! Seriously?! Even with the "L-word" being said and done?

Camille Camlin:
Here's why I love her:
She is caring, loving sister to her brother Cody. Hhmm, what else? I think she's a good friend to Reagan. Ooh! She is feisty! Yes, she is!

What I don't like:
First , Well, I personally don't really like girls who smoke. I'm cool with Tats and piercing though.
Secondly, Cami thought she cheated on her bf when she entertained Trenton..and his kiss? If you ask me, I don't even know what to think! Tj , was her absentee boyfriend?! But still. She had a boyfriend! And it's frustrating to think that she wants Trent ...and she ..wants to be okay with TJ? Ugh.

3. The other characters :  3  stars

I know each of them have their stories to tell. Reagan , with her relationship with Kody...and Brazil? Ugh. Too much drama! What's with all of these??? Sometimes, when they are all together, I get pretty mixed up. Just Too much!

4. The plot of the story : I'll divide into three parts : 1st very interesting . Middle part: So much drama! Last part: Whoa! So...that makes sense! I admit , I did not see that one coming! It was an interesting surprise!  ---Definitely 4 stars!

“Trenton’s cast was between us, and I ran my finger over the different names, thinking about all of the people who loved us that had come to my room. I paused when I came across T.J.’s signature, and silently said a final good-bye to the simple but sophisticated scribble......."

THAT particular part made me say: " Ahhhhhh.... That's why!!

Loved the ending. It's not a typical cliffy, but it was surely something you want to know what happens next! I'll be looking forward for a sequel for sure!

My final verdict : 3.5 stars, and JUST because I loved that ending! I'm rounding it up to 4 stars!

My Review : Little Black Book by Tabatha Vargo & Melissa Andrea

Little Black Book
From Goodreads:
My name’s Sebastian Black, and I want to buy you. I could have any woman I want, but I choose you.
NO RELATIONSHIP, JUST SEX.

Here’s my offer…
I’ll put your name in my LITTLE BLACK BOOK, and when I want you, I’ll call you. When I call, you’re going to come, in more ways than one. It will be mutually pleasurable for both of us.

There are only two rules:
DON'T EVER DENY ME.
DON'T FALL IN LOVE.

If you do either, I’ll remove you from my book and payment stops.

Do we have an understanding?

                My Thoughts:

Well... Sebastian Black made me think of Christian Grey . Well... If you think of Mr. Grey naming his subs after Disney to Looney tunes characters?! Bambi..Wilma.. Betty are some or few names in his little black book and on speed dial! One call is all it takes ...then pleasureville is on!

Money, power and his good looks made everything so easy ... but Sebastian is insatiable, not until he finds his Jessica Rabbit. Rosslyn Harris is his Jessica Rabbit.

Sebastian Black can truly make your fantasies come to life! He's an alpha male who knows just the right moves to make a woman lose herself. Just like the innocent Roz, when Sebastian made her his Jessica Rabbit....she became Jessica Rabbit. It's not surprising because... just because he's Sebastian Black! Hah.

I knooooow, Sebastian sounds... a little looney?! What's with this cartoon character fetish anyways?! Well, clearly he doesn't do this name thing , because it complicates everything. Or was it more of he fears something?

Though the story was a little predictable, I admit I truly enjoy every page. Every page with Sebastian Black! Gosh. He can make you squirm, squeal..and do feel things you dare not confess! Yes . That. Sebastian Black.

I got a lot of fave "Sebastian moments" and it ranges from hot to hottest!

“Here’s what I’m offering you.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a little black book. “I’ll put your number in my book, and when I want you, I’ll call you”
“And when I call you, you’ll come, in more ways than one. I promise, beautiful girl, it will be mutually pleasurable for both of us.”

ME: Call me, Baby!!!

“Let’s play a game,” I said, running my fingers up her tense back.
“What kind of game?”
“It’s called Sebastian says.”

Me: Bring it on!!! Rawwwrrrr!!

Ooh! I got more! But I leave the rest for you to discover...

If you're looking for a quick titillating read, then you'll enjoy this book. Go ...and meet Sebastian Black.

4 Sexy-as-Sebastian-kind of Stars

My review : Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

Archer's Voice
From Goodreads:
When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

                      My Thoughts:

I have any of these two reactions whenever I am extremely pleased over a book.  One : I talk incessantly. Yep! like non stop , words everywhere, words anywhere and something like this  : asdghgltrlrjdhdjsrot ?! Incorrigible and ...scary?! Hah!  And two: I am  .......silent! Very Silent.Yes! Like Me staring longingly at the wall? on empty space?  God, like everything else was empty? Yes. Intense.

Reading Archer's voice, I got two reactions : I want to write everything down ( meaning blabber! blabber!) but ...what happens next?! I am temporarily immobilized. How can I ever put into words this bottled feeling I am having right now??? Amazing was not even the closest adjective ?!  This book was just... *blink*....*blinks again* ....wonderful ? incredible?  extraordinary ? ....and every word related to SO-awesome-You'll be speechless!

After a couple of minutes ( of deep reflection?! ) which include , closing my eyes ,breathing deep and counting  3..2..1.. I can finally say this words  clearly and with reverence. "I ARCHER YOU. I ARCHER YOU SO MUCH! Yes. I . do.  Archer Hale is everything I want for a book boyfriend and more!

For a guy with no voice, Archer can speak volumes that can reach both your heart and soul. What he been through ..the tragedy he witnessed as a child , losing  his voice? The burden he'd been carrying all his life...living in isolation ? Was beyond  a normal person could ever  carry!  But apparently, Archer has gotten used with this life, in fact, he built this wall around him ....not until he met Bree Preston. Everything changed.

I love and super adore Bree! Her persistence and patience into breaking Archer's wall, was a wow!  Not to mention she is really funny. No wonder , she made the elusive Archer... well, break into smile. I love how they started as friends... though the attraction  screams?! I can't blame Bree, because Archer..was really a feast on the eyes! Well, just look at the cover! Take note, that's only Archer's.. uhmm , behind?!  Can you imagine if he's actually facing you?! I do. I do!! Wish I could make you see my "imagined " Archer... you will either fan yourself ...or faint?! Haha!  Okay. Okay! Maybe , something like this?

I knooooow!! I loved the smiley Archer Hale!!  ( uhm, and well, of course, that body!!)  *winks* Oooh, you thought ,it's all physical , huh?! Wait , till you read what this "awkward , sweet, silent boy can do! I tell you he's just the sweetest!( and the hottest!! Eeep!)

Let me give you a teeny excerpt :

"What are you doing here? I asked.
You don't like thunderstorms, he answered.
I tilted my head, confused. You walked a mile  in the rain because I don't like thunderstorms? ..."

"...I know I'm probably the last person you want to see right now but I just thought if I sat on your prch, you wouldn't be scared. You wouldn't be alone. "

Oh my god! I could just melt. Right here. Right now! That's probably one of the best lines ( and sweetest gesture )  I've ever read. Ms. Mia Sheridan is soooooo good!

This is the first book I've read from her and surely won't be  my last! I just love how she wrote  it, how she put those emotions into words . I felt those words like they were real. The struggles both Bree and Archer gone through? I felt it. I am with them ... every single page.

I love how the whole story went. It was smooth, like everything was just perfectly place. The perfect mixture of everything...  light ( fun ) moments ...the long Awwwwwwwwwws ( Yup, that's the swoon times) ...  the "fanning a LOT" sexy times  ( I tell, you Archer's an overachiever on that area! *winks* ) and of course THOSE  moments when I screamed Noooo..Noooo.. noooooo !!! ( Almost gave me a heart attack there! Really. )

Ooooh.. I bet you are curious now? Go .... grab this book, like, right now! And..uhh, another thing, serious book hangover ahead!

           I'm giving this book:
     5 I-Archer-you-So-Much Stars!

My Review ; Lola and the Boy next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Lola and the Boy Next Door (Anna and the French Kiss, #2)
From Goodreads :
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion...she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit--more sparkly, more fun, more wild--the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.

When Cricket--a gifted inventor--steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

               My Thoughts:

I SHIP Cricket Bell and Lola Nolan !!!  I really do! I really do!  I'm sorry Etienne St. Clair...I love you ( and your accent...specially your accent! haha ) ..but, so sorry my love, I think I love Cricket Bell more! .....AND I love Ms. Stephanie Perkins the MOST!

Once again, Ms. Perkins amazed me ! I never thought I could swooned more than I already swooned from her first book "Anna and the French kiss". Believe me, I DID a lot of heavy swooning and fangirling there ( Over Etienne!)?! Hah!

Lola and Cricket's story took me back in time where  all my "firsts"  happened . The butterflies-in-my-stomach-giddy...   first puppy love...  the thrill of that "one perfect kiss"...and yes, even my first heartbreak ( that feels end of the world?!) ...all these I felt  , reading this book. It was one BIG  wonderful feeling Ms. Perkins have captured and put into words. I Just LOVED it!

Loved all the characters , even the snotty Calliope  seems bearable? ( all because she's Cricket Bell's pesky twin sister! ) haha! Lola Nolan, I love her ..eccentric  uhm taste in fashion! I imagine, sparkles and burst of color everywhere! I adore her Dads too. I think they are the coolest and funniest parents to have! .....And Cricket Bell.... Cricket Bell... Cricket Bell.... in three.. two...ONE.... fangirling starts NOW!

Yes. Cricket Bell might look like a Geek / Nerd / Mad scientist?! ..and his fashion sense seems.... a little bit peculiar?! well, Lola clearly loves it! ( and noticed others things to LOVE about Cricket too?!)

There's really something so endearing about this boy next door that makes me wanna give him a hug  and a kiss! Yes I do! And Lola surely wants too!...But...wait , wait...? Lola has Max ?! Max , as in ...her twenty two year old  rock star boyfriend?! Who she thinks is "the one"? ... Well, not when the "other one" came back? That dreaded day when the Bells return to  their home next door... Running into Cricket...Lola was once again confronted with that long buried ..what? hurt? ...of their friendship ? their unrequited love???? How would she deal with it?

Dealing with that boy next door was never been easy. Sure, Lola thinks of having her somewhat revenge? Because she has this hot rockstar boyfriend to show off!!!! ( who turned out to be a douche? Ugh! ) But her traitorous heart was not helping. Cricket has that "effect"on her she can't just ignore. I love, love those awkward encounters! It was funny , I laugh out loud and swoony??! Yes! Me . Swooning hard!

“What do you say to someone who is not the same and yet completely the same?”

It was SOOOO clear they are STILL crazy about each other! No need to ask the MOON , Lola!!!! Phuuuuleeeesh!!!! Though, I admit that  "moon thing" was just toooo cute to go unnoticed. Watch out for that scene! It's perfect!  * dreamy sigh*

Overall, I love LOve everything about it.  Specially the ending! Specially that ending!!!!

“So do you believe in second chances?" I bite my lip.
"Second, third, fourth. Whatever it takes. However long it takes. If the person is right," he adds.
"If the person is... Lola?"
This time, he holds my gaze. "Only if the other person is Cricket.”

Do I need say more?!!  Go. Read.This.Book.NOW!

           I'm giving this book:
        5 I-love-you Cricket stars!

My Review : Dirty Angels by Karina Halle

Dirty Angels (Dirty Angels, #1)
From Goodreads:
For Luisa Chavez, a twenty-three year old former beauty queen, a better life has always been just out of her reach. Sure, she’s had men at her feet since she was a young teenager but she’s never had the one thing she’s craved – security. Having grown up in near poverty, her waitressing job in Cabo San Lucas can barely let her take care of herself, let alone her ailing parents. Every day is another unwanted advance, every day is a struggle to survive.

When Salvador Reyes, the depraved leader of a major Mexican cartel, takes an interest in her, Luisa is presented with an opportunity she can’t afford to pass up. She’ll become Salvador’s wife and exchange her freedom and body for a life of riches – riches she can bestow upon her deserving parents. But Luisa quickly finds out that even the finest wines and jewels can’t undo the ugliness in her marriage, nor the never-ending violence that threatens her every move.

Soon, Luisa is looking for an escape, a way out of the carefully controlled life she’s leading. She finally gets her wish in the worst way possible.

As it is, being the wife of Salvador makes her an ideal target for rival cartels and there’s one particular man who needs Luisa as part of his cartel’s expansion. One particular man whose quest for power has destroyed lives, slit throats and gotten him out of an American prison. One particular man who will stop at nothing until he gets what he wants.

That man is Javier Bernal. And he wants Luisa. He wants to take her, keep her, ruin her.

Unless she ruins him first.

                  My Thoughts:

This book...this book... was just afhgjtlyigmgfdj ! ( Direct translation : BEYOND AMAZING! ) My first book from Ms. Karina Halle ...and I  eff-fing  loved it! ( Direct translation : I FREAKING LOVED IT! ---yes! No cussing ..for now?! haha! )

"INTENSE" /in'tens/  adj.  meaning:  of extreme force , degree or strength.

Intense...?? Not even close enough to describe how I felt the entire time while reading this book! It pulled every emotion within me. I was on the edge... on the edge of something I could not control! And what that makes me? I am left at the mercy of Ms. Karina Halle's written words!

For the love of her parents , Luisa Chavez will do anything to alleviate their life even if handling herself to the devil. That devil has a name, Salvador Reyes.  Luisa's life became a living hell  when she married this Mexico's infamous drug lord. She was abused in every way possible... she was more of captive than a wife.  Her attempt to escape lead her to...  Javier Bernal ,her  new captor and Salvador's sworn enemy. Now taken as hostage, Luisa's life depended on the man who  has the power to  both destroy and save her.

I love Luisa's character. She may be look fragile and hopeless but deep inside she's a fighter. To endure those torture was beyond comparable! I can't even imagine being on that situation. She fought  and boy! she fought hard! But did she break? No she did not... Not until, he got to know the "real" Javier Bernal.

Javier Bernal was total badass. If someone can create fear... and threat and really mean it, he's the guy. Torture is his plaything  and that makes him dangerous...very dangerous. He may be the villain here  , but surprise, surprise?! I WANT JAVIER BERNAL! Yes, you read it right, I think I got Javier under my skin! Just like Luisa, after Javier branded her with his name..each letter painfully carved on her skin...daily?! ...  Luisa became his. I know it sounds ...grotesque ? Kinda sick  but ... I dunno, but I'm looking forward  for it?! Strange. And what's more strange? I find those moments ..disturbingly SEXY! That's how awesome, Ms. Halle's writing!   She can make disturbing...sexy! Or was I fully describing Javier Bernal?! Oh ..Javier.. Javier..Javier...that things he is oh-so capable of doing! I was like this :

" My blood. I remembered the shivery sensation of his lips as they kissed my wounded back, both soothe and revved up by the strange feeling. Now he was standing  before me, I could't help but fell my skin thrum like an electric fence. "

"...In seconds, he was kissing it, soothing it with his lips and tongue, absorbing the blood . He was so unbelievably tender, even after such an act of cruelty. "

Me : Oh. My.Sweet... mother of torture!!!

Here's for you Javier Bernal : You can carve every . single. freaking. letter of your name. .. on my body!!!

...And that was the beginning of my INTENSE fangirling! I REALLY would want to elaborate, ladies...but for the sake of a spoiler free review...I advise you to GO find out yourself. I think Ms. Halle  was serious when wrote this warning :

**warning: this book contains situations which might be triggers for some people. Please see the bottom of this description to see if this is the kind of book that you'll love or piss you off**

As for me? I ABSOLUTELY loved it! Reading this book is like watching an adrenaline pumping, heart stopping Mafia movie. Guns, goons, torture and endless you-wanna-hold-on-to you-dear-life movie moments ...all of that excellently written inside a single book... INSIDE  Karina Halle's book!

The ending was ..afhgjthdmsdhd! ( Yes! Speechless again! ) I bit my lips , my nails ..and everything I could get my hands on! It was like waiting for something....something that you know is going to end up badly. I was on the verge of breaking... and screaming... Noooooooooo! And then....Oh my freaking????! .....SPOILER removed! That was one great ending!  ...Read it! Read it NOW!

           I'm giving this book :
          5 Beautiful...Dirty stars!
